What is a website redesign preview preview?

A website redesign preview tool uses AI to generate a photorealistic image of what a website or web app would look like after a redesign, built directly from a screenshot of the current live site. Web design and development agencies use it during discovery calls and pitches to show a prospect a visual direction before committing design or engineering hours to full comps. It replaces early-stage wireframes and mood boards with a rendering of the prospect's actual site, redesigned.

Why it matters

Website and app redesign projects run anywhere from $8,000 for a small marketing site to well into six figures for a full product redesign, and the sales cycle rarely closes on the first call. Prospects collect two or three competing proposals, a stakeholder committee has to sign off, and everyone on that committee is being asked to approve a direction they've only seen described in a sitemap and a strategy deck. Agencies lose winnable pitches not because the strategy was weaker, but because a competitor's deck had something that looked finished and theirs didn't. The industry also has a standing aversion to spec work — building real comps for a deal that hasn't closed is unpaid labor most shops can't absorb across every pitch. A preview generated from a screenshot gives you the visual without the unbilled design hours.

Who uses this

Agency principals and account leads use it live on discovery and pitch calls to turn an abstract "we'd modernize your homepage" into something the prospect is looking at. UX/UI designers use it to produce a fast concept direction before investing real Figma hours once a deal is warm. Freelance web designers and no-code builders (Webflow, Framer) use it to compete for projects against larger shops without matching their comp-design headcount.

Heard this from a prospect?

01

A prospect asks you to "just mock something up so we can see it" — and doing that properly means eight unpaid hours of comp work for a deal that isn't signed yet.

02

You present a sitemap, a strategy deck, and a mood board. The prospect nods politely, then goes quiet for two weeks because nothing you showed them actually looked like their site.

03

You lose the pitch to a competing agency whose deck had a slicker-looking mockup in it — even though your redesign strategy and technical plan were stronger.

How website redesign preview previews work

Three steps. Under 10 seconds. No design skills needed.

01

Capture the current site

A full-page screenshot of their homepage, product page, or app dashboard — desktop or mobile. No design file, no live access to their CMS required.

02

AI generates the redesign preview

The model restyles layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy while keeping the client's actual headlines, imagery, and content structure recognizable — not a generic template swap.

03

Present it in the pitch

Their own site, redesigned, right there in the discovery call or proposal deck. The conversation moves from "what would this look like" to "when do we start."
