Window Treatments

Show homeowners their shutters installed before they sign for a non-returnable custom order

Photograph the window during the in-home consultation. Makeover generates a photorealistic shutter preview in under 10 seconds — frame style, louver size, and paint or stain color rendered on their own window, not a sample chip in your case.

What is a shutter preview preview?

A shutter preview tool uses AI to generate a photorealistic image of plantation shutters installed on a customer's actual window. The consultant photographs the window during the in-home visit, and the tool renders the chosen louver size, frame style, and paint or stain color directly onto that photo in seconds. Window treatment consultants use this during the initial consultation to close shutter sales in the same visit, before a homeowner has time to hesitate on a custom order that can't be returned once it's milled.

Why it matters

Plantation shutters are the most expensive line item in the window treatment category — installed jobs typically run $30 to $90 per square foot, and a whole-house order easily reaches $5,000 to $15,000 or more. Unlike blinds or curtains, a shutter order is custom-milled to the exact window and can't be returned once it leaves the factory, so homeowners hesitate hardest in the seconds before they sign. Most dealers run an in-home, one-call-close model: a consultant measures, walks through louver and frame options from a sample case, and tries to get a signature before packing up. A photo-real preview shown in that same visit turns "let us think it over" into a signed order while the consultant is still in the room.

Who uses this

In-home design consultants at franchise and independent shutter dealers, who carry the sample case and are expected to close on the same visit they measure the window. Measure technicians at larger operations who are trained to sell during the measure appointment instead of scheduling a separate sales call. Specialty window-covering retailers and interior designers who quote shutters alongside blinds, shades, and drapery as part of a whole-room treatment plan.

Heard this from a homeowner?

01

They like the idea of shutters but stall at the price because they can't picture eight thousand dollars of louvers on their own windows — only on the sample board sitting on your table.

02

They can't decide between a full-height panel and a café-style shutter that only covers the bottom sash, and no swatch chip shows them what their actual window looks like cut that way.

03

They worry the frame color will read slightly off against their existing trim, and once the shutters are custom-milled there's no sending them back to try a different shade.

How shutter preview previews work

Three steps. Under 10 seconds. No design skills needed.

01

Photograph the window during the consultation

Any phone camera, any window — bay, arch, or standard double-hung. Shoot it as it sits, with the existing trim and light.

02

AI generates the shutter preview

The model renders the louver size, frame style — L-frame, Z-frame, or deco frame over existing moulding — and paint or stain color directly onto that window, matched to the room's light and trim.

03

Present before you leave the house

Their own window, shuttered, on your tablet. Ask for the signature while the sample case is still open on the table.
